In a 3 quart pot, add in all the ingredients for the beans
and sweet potatoes on medium heat. Make sure to check the seasonings to see if it is to your
liking. Add more if needed. Simmer on low for 30-45 minutes. <o:p></o:p></div>

For the jasmin rice, follow the instructions on the bag. <o:p></o:p></div>

Sesame Kale: In a pan, add the sesame oil, garlic, and 3
pepper and onion blend. Sauté the ingredients until the onions and peppers are
soft. Add the kale and continue to sauté until the leaves become wilted. Once
the Jasmin rice is finished, add a ¼ cup of rice to the sesame kale and add the
beans/sweet potatoes on the side. <o:p></o:p></div>

Have you ever thought....man, I would love to have a quick snack? Of course you have! When it comes to protein bars, there are so many on the market, and also they can be pretty expensive. Here is recipe that I think you will love, and these may be very well better than your store bought brands. In my next batch, I will use walnuts and raisins for an added touch. Ingredients:<br />
2 cups quick oats<br />
½ cup Naturade Vanilla VeganSmart Protein Powder (or other vegan protein powder)<br />
2 Tbsp. ground flax<br />
1 tsp. cinnamon<br />
¼ tsp. salt<br />
¼ cup almond butter (I used Nutella)<br />
¼ cup honey, or brown rice syrup if vegan<br />
½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk<br />
1 tsp. vanilla extract<br />
⅓ cup mini chocolate chips (dairy-free if vegan)<br />

Preheat oven to 350F and prepare an 8x8 baking pan by spraying it with cooking spray. Set aside.In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, protein powder, flax, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine almond butter, honey, almond milk, and vanilla. Mix until fully combined. Pour wet mix into dry mix and stir until fully incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips.Pour into prepared baking pan. Today I would like to find balance in the midst of my stress and being overwhelmed with life itself. There are so many things going on that I really just want to focus on the workouts for the week and my eating. I am learning that my body will push as long as my mind is right. I have to continue to fight through this program because it will be so worth it in the end. I am happy that I came across Kayla Itsines workouts! Push yourself!</div>

So it's August....</h2>

Ok guys...it is mid-August and the end of the year is quickly approaching. Have you decided what you are going to do with the rest of 2015? If not, today may be a good time to plan for the last four months of the year. </div>

My plan for the rest of the year is to continue to work on my fitness goals, get more toned, get group fitness certified, and incorporate new foods into my diet. I hope that by the end of the year all will happen. </div>

So, what have I been up to since I last posted.....Beach Body Guide by Kayla Itsines...that is what I have been up to these days. I am currently in week 2 day 4 of the program, and it has been going well. I will have to say that I did feel like dying a few times, but then I took a deep breath and continued fighting. I am learning so much about my body, my stamina, and targeting muscles on my body that I had been neglecting for some time now. I am loving the subtle changes in my body, and I am understanding that I can do anything that I put my mind to now. </div>

I remember this was my first attempt at getting some actual help with working out. I decided after having surgery, that I would look into getting a personal trainer. I am so glad that I did. She really took the time out to show me several different exercises that I still use in my workouts today. I am so glad that I took the first step in improving my health physically.<br /><br />
